Toronto Yogis! It’s been awhile! We’re only a short five months away from the 10th anniversary of the Toronto Yoga Show. We’ve been growing this event year after year to 10,000+ yogis and festival attendees. The show provides ONE place to connect with people, try new things, train, meet teachers, get inspired and explore amazing Canadian vendors in the yoga and wellness space. We’re staying busy (and taking mindful breaths) while we prepare and plan some awesome new experiences. Here are a few exciting announcements to get you in the Yoga Show & Conference spirit.
Who You Can Expect at the Festival
Our tenth anniversary is going to be our best year ever. We are bringing back some festival regulars to give you all world class lessons in ONE place. Here are some highlights!
One of the leading yoga activists and teachers is coming to us from California for some exclusive workshops at this year’s festival. Seane Corn is known for helping thousands world wide access healing and empowerment through precise and spiritual vinyasa yoga workshops. A featured contributor to Oprah.com and her work with The Huffington Post helped share her message of self-care, sustainability and peace of mind to create change politically during elections. She’s a force you don’t want to miss.
Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee
It doesn’t take long to find a yoga DVD or video that features Rodney Yee or Colleen Saidman. Rodney has made guest appearances on Oprah and they are both known as yoga celebrities with yoga studios in NYC and the Hamptons. As Spokespeople for Gaiam and a yoga power couple, these two willbe holding workshops to pass on their vast knowledge to the Canadian yoga community.
Internationally acclaimed author, health & wellness expert and yoga teacher Tiffany Cruikshank is coming to share her blend of eastern and western therapies. Her world-renowned novel, Yoga Medicine is acclaimed as a go to source for learning how to blend the eastern healing practices of yoga with western medical practices.
Tiffany was previously the Acupuncturist & Yoga Teacher at the Nike World Headquarters in Portland, Oregon and has worked with over 25,000 patients. She has graced the cover of over a dozen magazines including Prevention and Yoga Journal and has contributor to many major publications including: The Wall Street Journal, LA Times, Forbes, Yoga Magazine, Yoga Journal, Dr. Oz, and more.
Jill Miller’s expertise lies in finding links between yoga, massage and pain-management. Creator of the Yoga Tune-Up method has been used by hundreds of movement professionals and clinicians to assist professional athletes and people with chronic illnesses.
Ray Long MD is a certified orthopedic surgeon and yoga master with nearly 20 years of yoga experience. He’s the founder of Bandha Yoga which combines medical science with hatha yoga to create alternative healing therapies rooted in eastern and western traditions.
Look no further for a real-life example of how yoga can be used to heal the mind and body through the hardships of life. Coming to us from California Desiree Rumbaugh will be translating her “kitchen table” wisdom and real-life stories into powerful yoga lessons to help people improve your lives by seeing beyond the suffering in your mind.
What You Can Expect at the Conference
New Vendors and The Vendors You Know and Love
What’s a conference without the vendors? The show floor features more than 250 yoga and wellness vendors. Network your wellness business or find a favourite new product on the vast conference centre show floor. The conference is a great place to get deals you won’t find in store and to try samples of healthy products.
Tons of Classes in the Yoga Garden
Your show floor ticket gives you access to Yoga Garden classes all weekend long! The Yoga Garden hosts classes from local and International teachers all day everyday. This is the perfect place to get a taste of the different styles of yoga and teachers available.
It’s also a great place to meet new likeminded friends!
If you know nothing about yoga, or have been teaching for 30 years, there’s plenty of lessons to learn. No other show in Canada gives you access to some of the best workshops the yoga world has to offer. A full schedule is upcoming and we will be sure to keep you posted! We’re also excited to add food options and VIP experiences for the conference attendees this year.
